SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER (BRISBANE)

Reporting to Senior Management, your main focus will be on providing continuous network support along with end-user support to the organisations customers relating to installation and maintenance of Windows 2000/2003/XP, LAN/WAN systems and all associated software and hardware. Monitors and maintains network availability, security, back up procedures, peripherals, telecommunications, customer satisfaction and desktop user support.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or Information Technology
• MCSE certification is highly recommended
• CCNA certification is highly recommended
• ITIL Foundation certificate highly recommended

Experience:

• 2 to 4 years experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator (1st, 2nd and 3rd level support) specifically
• Experience designing and implementing VLAN’s and Wide Area Networks
• Experience in a Microsoft Windows environment
• Experience in a LAN/WAN environment
• Good understanding and application of ITIL Service Support principles in day to day user support
• Experience providing server support for Windows domain servers and Exchange
• Experience working in communication and telecommunication environments
• Experience installing and configuring Wireless LANs
• Understanding of PABX or VOIP systems
• Experience using commercial packet sniffers and troubleshooting Cisco routers
• Strong experience configuring Cisco 45xx routers and associated layer 2/3 switch family
• Experience working with Firewalls and IPSEC and VPN systems

Skills & Knowledge:

• Excellent customer service focus
• Ability to apply MS product knowledge (especially 2000/2003/XP)
• Good knowledge of LAN/WAN systems (Internet, Infrastructure)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good knowledge of network and system security best practices
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Cisco IOS and routing protocols (RIP II, OSPG, BGP etc.)
• Ability to learn and apply new systems and technologies
